Groups like North Carolina State Employees Credit Union have pledged to certify more than 1,000 employees, but even a small group can make a large impact.

Military Benefits
Military Educational Benefits
You may utilize GI Bill Benefits or the myCAA Scholarship to obtain your AFC®.
GI Bill Benefits
You may use your GI Bill Benefits to obtain your AFC through one of our distance learning programs or by taking courses on campus through our Registered Education Programs. Potential AFC Candidates will need to coordinate with the school’s Military and Veteran’s Services Office to ensure the college or university accepts GI Bill funding.

AFC Exam Reimbursement
The AFC® exam and retakes are approved for Military Education Benefits. The AFC® exam is in the WEAMS system as ACCREDITED FINANCIAL COUNSELOR® (AFC®): $750. Learn More.

Credentialing Assistance
If you are a Military Member who wishes to obtain the AFC utilizing your Service’s Credentialing Assistance Program (COOL), connect first with your Education office or Education NCOIC to ensure you understand the requirements, then reach out to AFCPE’s Special Programs team at military@afcpe.org for additional enrollment support.
myCAA: Self Paced Study

Military Spouses who are eligible for the myCAA program are able to pursue the AFC designation for $75 in out-of-pocket costs when they select the Self-Study Pathway (AFC Online Study Guide & Webinar Review Session) option. Please see the myCAA FAQ for additional information.

Students
Student Exam Discount
Current university or college students studying full-time at the undergraduate (at least 12 credits), graduate (at least 9 credits), or PhD (at least 3 credits) level are eligible to receive 50% off the AFC®exam.
Please upload your transcript during the AFC registration process. Discount will be applied by AFCPE after current, full-time status is verified. Reduced exam fee paid when candidate is ready to register for the exam.
If you are studying part-time at an AFCPE Registered Education Program, you may be eligible for the AFCPE Registered Education Program Part-Time Student Exam Scholarship, made possible by the AFCPE Strategic Impact Fund. Click here for more information.
