2017 Training Date:
Monday, November 13 & Tuesday, November 14, 2017 (onsite in San Diego, CA)
The Financial Fitness Coach (FFC) Program fully integrates financial counseling and coaching skills.
On completing the program, Financial Fitness Coaches have the depth of knowledge and skills to meet clients wherever they are in their lives, to identify their financial goals, and to collaborate with them in developing an action plan and taking appropriate steps to achieve those goals.
Our approach presents the continuum of financial coaching and counseling, used effectively to address a wide spectrum of issues, including but not limited to goal setting, money management, credit, debt and saving.
The FFC™ training is an introduction to concepts and skills that bring a coaching framework to your existing financial knowledge. This practicum-style course begins with an exploration of existing financial counseling skills and builds on them to increase your effectiveness with clients. The training is highly interactive and experiential, incorporating coaching demonstrations, group discussion and peer coaching practice. By the end of our course, you will be able to:
- Understand how coaching fits into the financial capability continuum (education, counseling and coaching).
- Understand the role of a financial coach in helping clients set goals and develop steps to achieve financial goals.
- Understand coaching philosophy and principles and use coaching skills in client engagements.
- Use the right technique (counseling or coaching) at the right time when working with clients.
To complete your FFC certification:
Educational eligibility requirements have been established to ensure that individuals certified as Financial Fitness Coaches have the appropriate level of education, knowledge and proficiency necessary to provide financial coaching services using the FFC™ mark.
We believe that, as a financial coach, it is critical for you to have a core knowledge and understanding of financial counseling and debt management, as well as a mastery of financial coaching skills and techniques. Please review the core competencies that you will be required to master as part of the FFC program.
