A Lifeline to Others
April 10, 2017
There was a time when I was overwhelmed by debt. I felt like I was drowning and didn’t have a lifeline. I was awash in a sea of swirling confusion, ready to go under and give up. But during this difficult time, one of my fellow Shipmates reached out to me. He counseled me and, moreover, his words gave me hope. I had a lifeline.
Today, I have recovered with my head above water. My debts are paid off. I have emergency savings and am building my retirement savings.
I want to offer a lifeline to others. This is why I am an advocate and why my future involves a career as an AFC®.
