For many AFC® & personal finance professionals, our drive and passion for our work comes from a desire to help others succeed with their money. Often times, this journey begins with our own personal money stories that we share with others. Next thing you know, a close friend or family member is asking for advice & the age old advice pops into our mind: “Don’t coach/counsel your family & friends.” But, is that really the best advice?
