Grant Proposal Reviewers

The Review Teams are a balance of researchers and practitioners. Reviewers score applications using a rubric that is based on the grant program goals and requirements.  There is a two-phase review process:

  • The Letter of Interest Review Team determines which LOIs meet the criteria to be invited to submit a full proposal, and then provides feedback to those invitees.
  • The Full Proposal Review Team selects the full proposals to be recommended to the AFCPE Board for funding. The AFCPE Board makes the final decisions.

Benefits of joining a Review Team

  • Earn CEU credits: 1 CEU per 6 hours of review team service.
  • Share and expand your experience in grant writing, evaluation, and funding processes.
  • Build relationships with other researchers and practitioners.
  • Help connect research and practice in the field of financial counseling and education.
  • Help build equity and capacity among financial professionals and the communities we serve.
