It’s a great time to be an AFCPE Member! We hope you can join us on February 11 as we continue to meet the moment – to certify, to educate, to connect, to impact, to build for the future.

AFCPE endeavors to make its Member meetings accessible to all attendees. If you require assistance regarding the accessibility of this invite, or if you would like to request an accommodation to participate in the annual business meeting, please contact us at accessibility@afcpe.org

AFCPE Bylaws: What’s New?

The AFCPE Governance Committee with the support of outside consultants, legal counsel, and accreditors, has drafted new bylaws for AFCPE. On February 11, we will share a summary of the process and changes, answer member questions, and then vote to adopt the new bylaws.

All AFCPE Members who attend the business meeting will have the opportunity to vote.

What are bylaws?
Bylaws are the internal rules that govern how an organization will operate. They establish an organization’s purpose and how it will function.

Updating the AFCPE bylaws is part of our governance work to ensure a strong foundation for the future of our organization.

Our main goals:

  • Streamline language to provide clarity
  • Ensure compliance with our accreditors and our nonprofit status

Current Bylaws | Proposed Bylaws

Updates include:

  • More streamlined language
  • A DEIA affirmation statement
  • Conflict of interest language
  • Removal of proxy vote
  • Enabling the Board of Directors to amend the bylaws
  • Three larger changes to ensure compliance with accreditors and nonprofit status (1) Updated Membership Classes (2) Updated Board Election Process (3) Certification Council selection
